About the festivalThe Charterhouse International Music Festival offers young players a unique opportunity to discuss and explore solo and chamber music repertoire with celebrated tutors and performers, bringing together wind and string players, singers and harpists. A library of chamber music is on site. There are daily master classes, a Lunchtime Concert Series, an 8 O'clock Trio & Ensemble Concert Series, and chamber music coaching sessions with different tutors during the week. Works are performed every day in the 6 O'clock Duo Concert series and the 8 O'clock Trio & Ensemble series. There are also informal Lunch time concerts for free choice of repertoire and the 5 O'clock Baroque Concert series. The evening concerts are open to the public. There are four resident pianists, who play for the classes and concerts, and a resident harpsichordist. The main concert hall is a wood panelled, elegant hall with a splendid stage and acoustic. The music department boasts two further recital halls. All have concert grand pianos.
